01 | Overview

We’re currently working with the UCSD Rady School of Management, Business Analytics Program to develop our predictive analytics model for indicators in marketing communications performance. Although we are pre-revenue, we have recently released version 3.0 of our prototype and are currently selling access to our pilot program.

02 | Role & Responsibilities

We’re searching for a Software Engineer to lead a team of developers responsible for building new applications based on our innovative platform. This role will lead the development of the next generation of our platform by iterating our current solutions; designing, developing, and installing software solutions; support and developing our internal software team.

The ideal candidate will be able to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery, and have excellent software engineering skills. Creative engineering balanced with high quality and a customer focus. Must be able to work across multiple facets of the project and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Strong analytic capability and the ability to create innovative solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is looking to grow their career in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop next-generation software solutions by studying the current prototype and determining future systems needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
  • Innovate and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
  • Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Grow engineering teams by interviewing, recruiting, and hiring
  • Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to brainstorm and create new products
  • Passionate about great technologies, especially open source
  • Understand business needs and know how to create the tools to manage them

03 | Skills & Qualifications

Successful candidates will have the skills and qualifications to be a contributing members of our leadership team by establishing our tech stack, as well as:

  • Full-stack Developer (React, TypeScript, Node)
  • Database Planning and Development
  • AWS Hosting and Management
  • Frontend Design and Development
  • Data Analysis and Visualization
  • Software Requirements and Architecture
  • Software Design, Documentation, Testing
  • Experience Working in an Agile Environment
  • Committed, Self-Motivated, Results Oriented

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through the actual launch of the project
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
  • Experience implementing and consuming large-scale application services
  • Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

04 | Education & Experience

We are looking for a formally educated software engineer with experience as a leader of a team or organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years experience with web app development and deployment
  • Experience with computer programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence

05 | Hours & Opportunities 

The leadership team is distributed between San Diego, CA, and Pittsburgh, PA, and works synchronously and asynchronously. Workloads vary, based on team goals, and work hours are flexible to better accommodate the needs of our team members.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The right candidate will be allowed to earn stock options through their contributions.
